Is it useful to digital sign assemblies on Ubuntu?

Our project is based on the .NET core platform, and we deploy it on Windows system. We bought certification from 3rd party authoritative organization (like digiSign, VeriSigh etc.), and installed the certification on our computer that does Continuous Integration jobs, then the compiled assemblies will be signed, so the benefit is that the application can run without prompting message like 'Unknown Publisher'.

Now, we plan to deploy our assemblies on Ubuntu system (we will compile the projects on Ubuntu). Our assemblies will be installed on the system before hand it over to end-user, then the users do not have a chance to change it in the future.

My question is: can I bought a 3rd party certificate and do digital sign on Ubuntu like WIndows?
