VPN to connect to CDN

I was wondering will it generally improve and help it work faster. Here is my case. Their main server is in China. They have their CDN (content delivery network) set up in the UK. I am located in Sweden and I connect to a British VPN located in the UK and then connect to their CDN in the UK. Now the question is would that give me the same CDN "speed" as if I were physically in the UK? Would appreciate any comments / input. Many thank in advance!
