Trying to run phpmyadmin but its giving me a blank screen

I'm building a Laravel project and wanted to use phpmyadmin for my database interface. Once i create the phpmyadmin directory and run "php -S localhost:8000" I get a blank screen on my local host with this message in my terminal:

MySql, PHP, and composer are all up to date. I did the install setup through a youtube video and copied it to the tee

Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
