So I don't really know if this is the place to get help on this, but I didn't get any solution in the MATLAB forum so I hope that I have better luck here.
This is how my MATLAB install looks. 
Even the uninstaller has this very wonky text all over, so when I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling MATLAB I realized that'd be a pain as well. But I managed to do that by running the uninstaller non interactively, providing options in the configuration file. But even after reinstalling this problem is still not resolved. I don't have any idea about how to proceed with trying to fix this, so any help would be appreciated.
And similarly, this is what my Android Studio looks like. 
I'm guessing maybe the problem might arise from something that these applications have in common. Also in parts of the application where I can select this broken text, when I paste it into notepad the text renders normally in case that helps.
Any possible solutions would be appreciated.
